REASI, MAY 30: District Magistrate Ravinder Kumar
has imposed restrictions around all construction sites of ongoing railways
projects to keep a check and reduce undue interference of local people in
smooth execution of prestigious projects.
In this connection, the District Magistrate has also issued an order
under section 144 CrPc to restrict assembling of four or more persons at all
construction sites within 1 km radius in the jurisdiction of Reasi district. He
has further ordered for prohibition of protests, meetings, rallies and other
activities without permission.
The order also mentions that many times civilians have compelled the
construction companies to stop or delay the tunnels’ and
bridges’ work keeping aside its prime importance and timeline completion
followed by escalation of project cost.
As per order, District Magistrate has stated that issues of unions,
public and labourers related with wages hike, allowances etc would be taken up
with Central Law Commissioner Jammu and the concerned shall be communicated
from time to time under given provisions and norms and question of protests do
not arise at any cost.
