POONCH, MAY 25: District Development
Commissioner (DDC), Mohammad Harun today visited remote areas of Mendhar
subdivision to take stock of people's problems.
During his day long
tour DDC visited Kala Ban, Chungan, Pathanteer, & Checkbonela and convened a
series of public meetings to redress various grievances of people residing
in these far flung areas.
The DDC was
accompanied by Tehsildar Mendhar, Shazad Latief Khan, Executive engineer
of PMGSY, AEEs of PWD, PDD, PHE &
other officials of Rural Development Department, FCS & CAs and Social Welfare
Department.
On the occasion
people of the area projected various demands and grievances including better
road connectivity, medicare facilities, and provision of electricity to
unelectrified areas.
People of the area
also raised concerns with regards to benefits under various centrally sponsored
schemes like PMAY, MG NERGA, PMEGP, besides implementation of schemes of
Handloom, Agriculture, Horticulture and Handicraft Departments.
Issues pertaining to
timely payments and disbursement under MGNREGS besides timely completion of
ongoing road projects were also raised.
The DDC gave a
patient hearing and assured the people that their genuine demands would be
taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.
DDC gave on the spot
directions to the concerned to take necessary steps immediately for early
redressal of the same. He also directed the officers of various departments to
organize awareness camps in remote and difficult to access areas to make people
aware about various Centrally and State Government sponsored schemes so that
people could avail the benefits.
The DDC asked the local prominent
people to participate in developmental process by keeping an eye on various
ongoing developmental works in their respective areas and giving feed back to
the administration.
