| Announces Rs 1 cr for infra development at Jammu’s High Court Complex |
JAMMU, MAY 29– Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati
Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq today said that strengthening of judicial
system with all latest infrastructural facilities and manpower is on priority
of the Government.
The Minister said this during an inspection of High Court Complex
in Jammu. He said that the government has been working constantly to provide
easy access of justice to people of the state besides developing necessary
infrastructure so as to improve functioning in the courts.
President Bar Association, B.S. Salathia projected various demands
pertaining to air conditioning of bar rooms, additional space for bar rooms,
improving drinking water supply, parking facility and separate road for court
complex, lockers for advocates, Multitier Parking, Primary Health Centre,
Library in district courts, Stipend to the lawyers, renovation and
upgradation of ladies bar rooms and sanitation.
Responding to the demand, the Minister announced Rs 1 crore for
installation of air conditioners in the bar rooms, court rooms
and subordinate rooms to give respite to the law fraternity and the
litigants during summer season.
The Minister directed R&B engineers to chalk out a comprehensive
plan for alternate road for effective traffic and parking management in the
complex, replacement of old fiber sheets on the roof tops of the
pathways and district court complex. He further directed the concerned officers
for proper sanitation and drinking water facility in the court complex.
Discussing issues pertaining to delay in implementation of certain court
orders, the Minister informed that directions have already been passed to the
concern administrative secretaries in this regard. He further informed that
State’s Law department will soon have a special cell headed by Special
Secretary to look into the frivolous litigations in courts for providing timely
justice to the aggrieved persons.
Later, the Minister also took round of the High Court Complex and took
stock of facilities there.
Members of the Bar Association, Senior Advocates S.K Shukla and others,
Law officers, engineers from PHE, R&B, JKPCC besides officers from other
departments were present on the occasion.
