Arrangements for Shri Baba Budha Amarnathji Yatra finalized at Rajouri

RAJOURI JUNE 21: District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary convened a meeting to finalize the arrangements for Shri Budha Amarnathji Yatra scheduled to commence on   29th July.

SSP Yougal Manhas, Col Susheek Kumar 25 Arty Bde, ADC Mumtaz Ali, ACR Paramjeet Singh, SE PWD S A Wani, SDMs, District officers, ExEns, sectoral officers and representatives of Yatra Committee Rajouri and Sunderbani attended the meeting.

Arrangements related to reception of Yatris at Sunderbani, accommodation, deputation of employees, power and water supply, sanitation, security, traffic management, provision of ration and sugar, PA system,  maintenance of roads, provision of sleepers, fire and emergency services, first-aid and healthcare, emergency response, temporary toilets, erection of sheds, installation of stalls, CCTV at yatra ground and other facilities were finalised in the meeting.

DDC directed the departments to organise a grand reception at Sunderbani and reception festival at Rajouri to welcome the Yatris and showcase the rich culture, traditions, history and tourist destinations  particularly religious tourism of the district. He asked the departments to set up their stalls showcasing various schemes and also sought greater  public participation  . It was also decided that CCTV cameras will be installed at the Yatra ground for foolproof security. A joint control room will be established with representatives from Police, Army, Adm, PHE, PDD, Fire Service, Revenue, Municipality, Traffic and other departments for effective coordination among various agencies for smooth conduct of  yatra. Dedicated help lines are being established for convenience of Yatris.

SSP Yougal Manhas briefed the meeting about security arrangements at halting points and throughout the route of yatra in district. He also elaborated on traffic arrangements, establishment of police control room, emergency helpline and other arrangements in coordination with other agencies.

President Baba Amarnath and Baba Budha Amarnath Nayas Samiti, Rajouri and District Presidents of organisations expressed gratitude to district administration for taking innovative and special efforts and steps for making the yatra a grand success and laying special focus on comfort of yatris. It was decided to have interim review of arrangements for better delivery to manage yatra.
