BUDGAM, JUNE 22: District
Development Commissioner Muhammad Haroon Malik today chaired 59th District
Level Review Committee Meeting to review the progress of line departments and
banks with respect to the economic development of the District.
Officers of the concerned Departments, DDM NABARD, representatives from
RBI, Cluster Head of JK Bank and District Coordinators of various Banks
operating in the District attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail progress and achievements made by the
banks in the implementation of various government sponsored schemes like Kissan
Credit Card, NULM, Housing for All, Handloom, Weavers MUDRA, and Artisan Credit
Card.
Giving details about the performance of Banks, as on 31st March 2017
operating in the District, it was informed that total deposits as on 31st March 2017
has reached from Rs 1794.56 Crores to Rs 2017.23 Crore, total advances as on 31st March 2017
has reached from Rs 1316.71 Crore to Rs 1411.33 Crore, while as CD Ratio is
69.96 per cent against the RBI benchmark of 60 per cent.
It was apprised that under Priority Sector, the banks have disbursed Rs
509.42 Crore against the target if Rs 504.80 Crore and under non-priority
sector have disbursed Rs 223.85 Crore against the target of Rs 155.22 Crore. Hence
the achievement is 100.91 per cent and 144.22 per cent respectively against the
annual targets.
While reviewing the progress achieved in Central & State Sponsored
Schemes, the DDC appreciated the role of sponsoring agencies and Banks for
participating in the implementation of schemes during the financial year
2017-18.
During the meeting, the DDC urged the concerned to focus on
mechanization of agriculture and provide genuine hybrid seeds to the farmers.
He urged the concerned to identify a select group of progressive farmers who
can be persuaded to use modern technology. He dwelt on the need to have cold
storage facilities and various modern agro-industries besides initiatives in
horticulture sector in the district.
The DC directed the General Manager DIC Budgam to be the nodal officer
for the various welfare schemes of Industries & Commerce Ministry including
those of Handicrafts & Handloom departments and to mentor the concerned
officers.
The DC urged the bankers to focus on providing loans for the purpose of
development of social infrastructure viz schools, health care facilities and
other concerned projects.
The DC urged the concerned to ensure Block level meetings are attended
seriously and urged them to conduct mass awareness camps & seminars so that
the information pertaining to various schemes are disseminated among the
public. He directed the RSETI authorities to conduct credit appraisal training
for various officers.
On the occasion, the DDC approved Annual Credit Plan 2017-18 of Rs
770.23 Crore for the fiscal year 2017-18.
The Convener of the meeting LDM Budgam impressed upon the line
departments & bank officials to expedite the process of resourcing and
sanctioning of the sponsored cases in a mission mode. Reach the unreached so
that upliftment of general and weaker section of the society is ensured.
