GANDERBAL, JUNE 21: District Development Commissioner
Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, today convened a meeting to discuss arrangements for
smooth conduct of annual Amarnath Yatra from Baltal route.
During the course of meeting, it was given out that a joint police control
room functioning (24x7) is being set-up at Baltal which would be attended by
all representatives of different departments for providing quality services to
Yatries.
While reviewing the arrangements, the DDC directed officials to maintain
sanitation at halting places of Yatries, besides ensuring adequate water supply
through taps, and restoration of 24x7 hour power supply and communication
system along the route to holy cave.
Health Department was asked to constitute team of Doctors, Paramedics
besides ensuring availability of ambulances.
The DDC also directed for repair and
renovation of route connectivity, adequate traffic management, and foolproof
security arrangements along the Yatra route.
It was given out that as many as 345 Quintals of Rice, 155 Quintals
Atta, 90 Quintals of Sugar besides sufficient quantity of K.oil, LPG cylinders
and 3000 quintals of firewood are being dumped at the different location of
Yatra camps.

Board Mr. Jatinder Singh, Yatra Officer Mr. J.S Jowhar, Director Disaster
Management Mr. Aamir Ali, Retired General A.R. Naik of Central Disaster
Management and District Officers of Ganderbal participated in the meeting.
