DDC Kupwara conducts extensive tour of Handwara

KUPWARA, JUNE 16: The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today conducted an extensive tour of Handwara constituency to asses and review the status of different ongoing developmental projects in the district being carried out by different executing agencies.

The concerned sectoral officers and head of the institutions briefed the DDC about the progress of various ongoing development projects under execution in different parts of Handwara area.  While, inspecting the Govt Higher Secondary School Hathmulla, the DDC directed CEO Kupwara to propose construction of additional Classrooms during the financial year.

          On inspection of Hathmulla-Drugmulla Bridge and Shatwari Nagree Bridge, the DGM JKPCC informed that said bridges are being constructed under NABARD funding respectively.

      During the inspection of Food Store Hathmulla, the DDC instructed AD (Food Civil Supplies and C.A) Kupwara, to take up the matter of release of funds for repairing the building with the higher authorities.

The DDC directed the Executive Engineer R&B Handwara for completion of High School Jagerpora within two months. He was also directed to complete the macadmaization of approach road on both sides of Vodhpora bridge and make it ready for commissioning by July 15, 2017.

         While taking stock of Construction of Hatchery at Maidanpora, the DDC was informed by the Executive Engineer R&B Division Handwara, that the work on the project amounting to Rs 2.80 Cr has been taken up recently.

On inspection of Girls Hostel Zachaldara (Govt HSS Zachaldara) the executing Agency was directed to augment the manpower and other resources on the site and ensure completion of the work by October, 2017.

Besides, a number of delegations met the DDC at various locations for seeking redressal of their grievances which mainly related to availability of drinking water, etc. On the spot, instructions were issued to concerned authorities to take immediate steps for addressing the problems faced by the general public.
