GANDERBAL, JUNE 16:- Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal today conducted extensive tour of Baltal,
Domail, Nilgrath, Ranga-Morch and Sonamarg to review the arrangements of
various departments ahead of the commencement of Amarnath Yatra 2017.
SP Ganderbal, SE R&B/PDD,
Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, R&B, SDM Kangan, CEO Sonamarg Development
Authority and other concerned officers accompanied the DDC during his tour.
DDC Ganderbal during his day long
tour to Baltal base camp for Shri Amarnathji Yatra, reviewed the progress of
ongoing works relating to arrangements for Yatra which is commencing from June 29,
2017.
DDC went around the camp and was
apprised of the status of the ongoing works by PHE, R&B, PDD, and other
concerned departments. It was informed that all the arrangements have been put
in place for the smooth conduct of Yatra 2017.
During the tour, speaking to the
officers the DDC stressed on the need for effective supervision and round the
clock monitoring by all the concerned officers for better management of the
Yatra. He asked for maintaining a close synergy between different departments
to ensure the timely and adequate deliverance of the services to be provided to
the pilgrims.
Earlier, en-route to Baltal, the
DDC visited PTS Manigam and at Sonamarg, DDC also interacted with the
transporters, Pony Wallas and laborers and reiterated to maintain peace and
harmony during Yatra period.
Later, DDC Ganderbal convened a
meeting of district officers of various departments at JPCR Baltal to review
the arrangements for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra.
During the meeting, DDC assured
that district administration will make all out efforts for providing best
facilities to the Yatris. He directed the concerned officers for formulating
comprehensive sanitation, health, traffic management and lodging plans for the
hassle free conduct of Yatra and be ready every time to meet out any exigency.
