SRINAGAR, JUNE 01: The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr.
Nirmal Singh, today extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the
eve of Mela Kheer Bhawani, being celebrated at Tulmulla in Ganderbal district tomorrow.
In his message of greetings, the Deputy Chief Minister has observed that
the festival is a shining example of communal harmony and brotherhood, which
are the hallmark of the glorious pluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir in the
centuries past.
Dr. Singh also prayed for peace, harmony, progress and prosperity in the
state.
The Deputy Chief Minister while emphasizing the importance of Mela Kheer
Bhawani in the multi-religious ethos of the State, said that the celebration of
the Mela had been an epitome of harmony and brotherhood since ages. He also
called upon the people to strengthen the bond of amity and mutual brotherhood
between various sections of society.
