SRINAGAR, JUNE 21: Deputy Commissioner Food Safety Drugs
and Food Control Organization (FSD&FCO), Bemina has
pressed three mobile food testing Vans into service in different districts of
Kashmir for monitoring the quality of Food Products on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The inspection of different areas of Srinagar city and district
Ganderbal were carried out, and on spot analysis of various food products,
particularly milk and milk products were conducted.
Around 15 quintals of milk not confirming the legal standards were
destroyed.
Mobile food testing vans were also deputed to district Budgam and Bandipur.
During testing of various food articles was 09 quintals of milk, 70lts of oils
and some juices were destroyed on the basis of testing conducted by Mobile Food
Testing Vans.
The food business operators were warned to desist from the malpractice
of adulteration, in the case of failure legal action as warranted under the
Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 will be taken.
