| Reviews progress of PHE, I&FC works in Anantnag |
SRINAGAR, JUNE 19: Minister for
Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri, today
stressed upon the officers to avoid time overrun in projects of public
importance so that burden of State exchequer is minimized.
The Minister was speaking at a high level review meeting conveyed to review
progress achieved under various developmental schemes of PHE and Irrigation and
Flood Control Departments in Anantnag district.
Commissioner Secretary PHE &Irrigation Saurabh Bhagat, Chief Engineer
Irrigation and Flood Control Imtiyaz Ahmad Dhar, besides Xens and AEEs of PHE,
I&FC and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The Minster directed the officers to expedite the projects of Public importance
which have been conceived with the aim to boost developmental scenario in the
State.
Stressing on the significance of Sirhama and K Kalan water supply projects, the
Minister asked the officer to complete the work by the end of this year.
He said that these two water supply schemes would cater to vast majority of
population bringing a long pending demand of residents. Similarly, the Minister
also stressed on the completion of works on Water Supply Scheme Zain-ud-Din
Wali. The Minister also reviewed the status of Karewa Waghama, Balyaar Marhama
water supply schemes.
The
Minister also asked the officers to create a separate budgetary provision of
water supply for newly set up residential areas. To augment the drinking water
supply in the district, the Minister directed the officers to install at least
10 hand pumps in each constituency. He further passed the directions to
speed up the landscaping and beautification works of the Padshai Bagh.
During the meeting, the Minister also took stock of flood protection works
being done at Tawella Hasanpora on Vishu nallah. He stressed on expediting the
works on the bund along the streams which were damaged during the
2014-floods.
