KUPWARA, JULY 17: The Deputy
Commissioner (DC) Kupwara today conducted an extensive tour of Laderwan and Halmetpora
villages in the district. The two villages are to be developed as model
villages by parliament members from Lok Sabha and Rajaya Sabha respectively.
The DC accompanied by the concerned officers of the departments held a
Awami Durbar under Public Contact programme, where people projected their
demands and matters relating to improvement of road connectives drinking water,
power, irrigation, Health care and other basic issues.
The Deputy Commissioner while responding to the demands, issues and
problems faced by the public said that all the basic facilities would be made
available to people under different developmental programmes.
The DC issued on spot instructions to the concerned and sought their
early redressal.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected some on-going developmental
projects to review the implementation of different schemes.
During the visit the DC said that the district administration is putting
all its efforts to restore the incomplete projects under execution of different
agencies. He said that the works plan formulated for SAGY plan would be
implemented in letter and spirit, and added that water reservoirs are being
constructed for resuming of irrigation facilities in these areas.
He said that Agriculture, Horticulture and allied departments have been
asked to involve unemployed youth for adapting the high density plantation so
that they could establish their own income generating units.
