POONCH, JULY 14: District Development Commissioner, Tariq Ahamed Zargar
today impressed upon the executing agencies to strictly adhere to quality
specifications and timeframe while executing development projects in the
district.
Referring to seriousness of the government to complete infrastructural projects
especially roads and important buildings within set timeframe, the DDC said
lackadaisical approach on part of any officer leading to delays would not be
tolerated and the erring officer or officials would have to face disciplinary
actions.
The DDC reviewed the status of development works being executed by
JKPCC, PWD, PMGSY, PDD under District Plan, State Plan and CSS.
Besides, bottlenecks hindering timely execution of projects were also
deliberated upon in detail and remedial measures were worked out for better
implementation & execution of development works.
DDC instructed the officers to timely work out issues of land acquisition,
encroachments, litigation, lack of inter-departmental coordination and delays
in tendering process.
Quoting the relevant judgment of apex court, he directed the concerned
officers for immediate removal of encroachments from State land.
He emphasized on greater coordination between PMGSY, Revenue and Forest
authorities to overcome the issues of land acquisition and forest clearances.
He also asked the senior officers of PDD, PHE for putting in place effective
mechanism for greater coordination at different levels to arrest unscheduled
power cuts and issues of shortage in water supply.
He also asked the field officers to regularly monitor ongoing works and
bring to the notice of higher authorities all the issues that hinder speedy
execution of works.
The DDC assessed the status of various roads being constructed by PWD,
PMGSY, status of bridge on Mandi Loran road, college building at Surankote, polytechnic
building at Sathra & status of municipal roads and buildings of girls'
hostels .
Chief planning officer, Executive engineers of PWD, PMGSY,JKPCC were present
in the meeting.
