Shimla, Jul 29 : Opposition BJP today passed a condemnation resolution in the party's executive body meeting over Kotkhai gangrape and murder case and sudden rise in the crime graph under the Virbhadra Singh government in Himachal Pradesh. Interacting with mediapersons here, former Union Minister and MP Shanta Kumar said party executive body meeting held at party state headquarters here from July 28 to 30 passed a condemnation resolution on the prevalent situation in the state. 'The way people come down on the road after state government interfered in the Kotkhai gangrape and an accused died in the police custody who was going to become approver.' 'This state had witnessed the cases of rapes in the past. However attempt to cover up the crime was new incident moreover the way high political interference was made forced people to burn down the police station and come down on road against the state government and police,' the BJP stalwart observed. 'Seldom in the history of this state such lawlessness and misrule prevailed. Chief Minister along with his family members is on bail and is still running state government,' Mr Kumar said. 'People of state, known for their innocence and integrity today feeling ashamed the way Mr Singh keep on sticking to his post ignoring all morality,' he said, adding that in the long history of this state, never any chief minister faced such humiliation as Mr Singh was facing. Despite seeking resignation of Chief Minister by the BJP after CBI and ED cases Mr Singh did not pay any heed, Mr Kumar said, adding that the party also lodged 'Virbhadra Singh Hato, Himachal Bacho' (remove Virbhadra Singh and save Himachal) drive in the state. It was responsibility of Congress high command to remove Mr Singh after he was chargesheeted in the corruption case but there seemed no high command in the Congress as its president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi are similarly on the bail in the National Herald case. Mr Kumar questioned that when a chief minster was on bail along with his family how could he run the government smoothly. He argued that since CM is busy in handling corruption cases and facing court trail, who was running the government. The BJP leader said there are still three and half month of this government in the office however it is painful for the people of state to bear the misrule. He said BJP resolution also cover other instances of misrule and increasing the crime graph. UNI
