DC Rajouri finalizes Independence Day arrangements

          RAJOURI, JULY 21: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, today convened a meeting with senior officers of the district administration and finalized arrangements for Independence Day celebrations in the district.

          A series of activities were outlined which would be held to mark the Day. It was said that the district administration is constructing a 5000 Square Feet shelter pavilion which will accommodate more than 1000 persons in case of precipitation. A team of engineers has been entrusted with the task of completing the project by end of the first week of August.

         It was decided that the main Independence Day function in the district will be held at District Police Lines. A number of committees have been constituted for arrangements related to march past, cultural programmes, reception, seating arrangements and issues related to security, traffic management, parking, sanitation, potable drinking water, refreshment, invitation, transportation, fire safety, participation of schools etc.

          The DC Rajouri asked the Rural Development and Education Departments to organize the Independence Day celebrations at every Gram Panchayat headquarters and display the works and achievements of Departments in the preceding year as well as the current year development plan.

          Further, it was said that rehearsal for Independence Day celebrations will begin at the District Police Lines on August 8, 2017 while as full dress rehearsal will be held on 13th August. More than 40 contingents and cultural troupes and local students would participate in the celebrations and present various items in local languages including Pahari, Gojri, Dogri and local dialects.
