Divisional Commissioner reviews Action Plan
SRINAGAR, JULY 04: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad
Khan, today chaired a meeting to review the Action Plan for shifting General
Bus Stand Batamaloo to Parimpora this month to ease traffic congestion.
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Vice Chairman SDA, Chief Engineers of PDD
& R&B, MD JKSRTC, MD JK Cements, Regional Transport Officer, SP
Traffic, Superintending Engineer Drainage Circle SMC and other concerned
officials were present in the meeting.
It was given out that Srinagar Development
Authority has already acquired 57 kanals of land at transport yard Parimpora
which can accommodate a large number of passenger busses.
On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner
said that Chief Minister is keen to shift Batamaloo Bus Adda to the Parimpora
so that it traffic regulation is improved in the busy Batamaloo junction and
address a long pending demand of the public.
The Div Com directed the R&B engineers
to expedite macadamization work at the new bus terminal within 15 days. He also directed for taking
immediate steps to built passenger sheds, ticket counters and rooms for bus
unions so that the terminal becomes functional at the earliest.
Regarding the rehabilitation of 20 families whom are temporarily
residing at Parimpora, Khan directed the SDA officials to visit the area with
concerned Tehsildhar and submit the report within two days so that the families can be shifted to Samerbugh as
early as possible.
