Directs for providing adequate basic facilities to devotees
SRINAGAR, JULY 21: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, today chaired a
meeting to review the arrangements for annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Ali Aali
Balkhi (RA) Pakherpora to be observed from July 25 to August 11.
The Minister also reviewed arrangements of Urs of Syed Soliah Khan Sahib
(RA) Khansahib being observed from July 21 to July 23.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik, SSP Budgam Tejinder
Sigh, ADC Budgam, besides senior officers of PDD, PHE, Health, Transport,
Municipality and other concerned Departments attended the meeting. The members
of local Auqaf Committee of Astan e Aalia also attended the meeting. Sanctorum
During the meeting, the Minister was briefed about the arrangements
taken for ensuring smooth conduct of Hazrat Syed Ali Aali Balkhi (RA) Urs. It was said that main function shall be held on August 5 with Pashak
Bandi (offering Chadar) at the sanctum sanctorum. The FCS&CA Department was
directed to ensure sufficient supply of ration including gas, kerosene, and
Sugar, particularly during Urs days.
Simultaneously, the PDD was asked to provide round the clock power
supply to the area during Urs days and in case of any urgency, the electric
gensets be kept available at the Shrine.
The ARTO officials were asked to provide hassle free transport facility
to the devotees.
The Minister directed the concerned to keep sufficient passenger
transport vehicles including SRTC buses available from the prime spots/Addas
where a huge gathering of devotees is expected to assemble for boarding during
Urs days.
He further directed that for the convenience of devotees they shall
keep close liaison with the Police Department to ensure effective traffic
regulation.
In order to check illegal profiteering, hoarding and black marketing in
the markets during Urs days, a special squad headed by concerned Tehsildar will
keep a close watch and make surprise checks of the markets during these days,
the meeting was told.
PHE Department was directed that apart from providing uninterrupted
water supply, mobile tankers must be deployed outside the Shrine area.
Similarly, R&B Department was asked to undertake repairments of the
roads approaching the shrine.
The Minister impressed upon the officers/officials of concerned
Municipalities to ensure better cleanliness and sanitation measures at the
Shrine premises and its surroundings.
Hanjura also asked the officers to make foolproof security arrangements
to ensure smooth and peaceful celebration of these holy occasions. He further
directed the officials to make arrangements for smooth regulation of traffic
and designate parking spots at various places to avoid traffic jams.
