KULGAM, JULY 22: To reach out to the people of far-flung areas
of district Kulgam, District Development Commissioner, today listened to the
public grievances at a Public Durbar held at Waltengoo, Kund.
The Durbar
was attended by all the District officers of different departments. The main
demands presented before the DDC were the inadequate water supply to Panghgam
Nard, Kanchlo, Karloo and Razloo villages of Kund are. They also demanded
establishment of Horticulture Zone and augmentation of existing receiving
station by carving out a separate feeder so that power voltage and frequent
power cuts would get minimized.
Regarding health sector, the people demanded restarting of X-ray machine
at PHC Razloo beside construction of compound wall of the said health
institution. Under R&B sector, people demanded the upgradation of Nowbough
Oriel, Negeen Pora, Guger Basti, Nagrus Kanchlo and Chitterhama Razloo roads to
strengthen the connectivity. They also demanded early completion of much awaited
Kanchlo - Oriel Bridge that will cater to a huge population.
Responding to the demands of Kund Valley, DDC said that the remote and
hilly terrain will be focused by the district administration in mitigating the
grievances of the public. The officers of CAPD departments were enjoined upon
to keep available the essential commodities including rice, sugar, and kerosene
oil to the public.
DDC assured that all the issues would be taken care of and immediate and
pro-active steps shall be taken to address the issues.
Tehsildar
Devsar, District officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry,
Education, Health, Irrigation and Flood Control, Rural Development, ICDS, Xens
of PDD, R&B and other revenue officers were present on the occasion.
