POONCH, JULY 22: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Tariq Ahmad Zargar along
with senior civil and police officers today held series of meetings with civil
society member’s en-route the Buddha Amaranth Yatra.
The team of officers met with people at Chanduck and Sathra on Poonch to
Mandi a famous route of Yatra and also pedestrian root of ’Holy
Charri Mubarak' to be taken out on day of Raksha Bandhan marking the conclusion
of Buddha Amaranth Yatra.
On the occasion, then DC took a detailed review of preparations made by
the concerned departments for security, drinking water and sanitation at
halting points on the Yatra route.
Apart from police, civil administration and civil society members the
meetings were also attended by locals from muslim community. The meeting also
discussed the measures to be taken in the backdrop of hostile situation
prevailing on LoC.
Many prominent locals spoke on the occasion and assured their full support for successful conduct of this historic religious event.
