BANDIPORA,
AUGUST 17: A walkathon comprising hundreds
of students, teachers, traders and government officials was flagged-off by
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora at S.K Sports Stadium here today.
The
walkathon was aimed to disseminate awareness among general public regarding
Swatch Bharat Mission (SBM) which went through various markets of Bandipora
town and culminated at Town Hall Bandipora.
The
students were displaying placards and banners, calling attention of the general
public for maintenance of cleanliness.
Speaking
on the occasion, the ADC exhorted upon students to ensure proper dissemination
of Swatch Bharat Mission message at their homes as well as in their localities.
He also urged for maintaining proper hygiene and cleanliness in and around
schools, hospitals, bus terminals and public places.
Among
others, Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Designated officer Food Safety,
and President Traders Federation were also present on the occasion.
