PULWAMA, AUGUST 25: Deputy Commissioner convened a meeting with district officers to review the arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha here today.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and the officers of CA&PD, PDD, PHE, R&B, Municipal Committee, Police, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Health and Transport Department besides all Tehsildars and other concerned officers.
The meeting discussed the arrangements to be put in place by the concerned departments including availability of essential commodities including rice, flour, sugar, kerosene oil and LPG, transport arrangements, cleanliness of areas around Masjids, streets and Eidgahs, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and repair and renovation of roads.
Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of PDD, PHE & Municipal Committee Pulwama to provide uninterrupted power supply and drinking water supply to the people besides ensuring cleanliness at the places of congregation, streets and drains. Emergency services department were asked to keep fire tenders ready at vulnerable places to face any eventuality.
He directed Sheep and Animal Husbandry department to keep Sheep, Goats and Poultry birds available on reasonable rates at all sale centres. He also directed the concerned officers to keep the sacrificial animals at identified locations in their respective areas for the public, so that the people do not face any inconvenience.
He instructed the concerned to ensure availability and distribution of essential commodities well before Eid besides ensuring that essential items are available in the market at fair rates. It was said in the meeting that sufficient stock of essential commodities of Rice, Sugar, Kerosene Oil and LPG are available in the district.

DDC emphasized upon Fisheries Department for establishment of fish points in the district. Further, directions were also passed to intensify market checking to keep a check on profiteering, hoarding and black marketing. He directed the officers of Municipal Committee, FCS&CA, Legal Metrology and Police departments to ensure that products are sold strictly in accordance with the government notified rates. Issues related to security, traffic management were also discussed in the meeting.
