Drug peddler arrested, contraband recovered in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 1:Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered about 24 kg of poppy straw from his possession in south Kashmir district of Kulgam.
      A police spokesperson here today said that a vehicle was intercepted at a check post at Shirpora in Kulgam.
      During checking, he said police recovered about 24 kg of poppy straw from the vehicle.
      He said the driver of the vehicle, identified as Sajad Ahmad Rather, was immediately taken into custody.
      Police have registered a case and initiated investigation to nab other people involved in drug trafficking, he added.UNI
