Bhopal, Aug 22 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision declaring the contentious issue of ‘triple talaq’ as unconstitutional. In a social media post soon after the judgement, Mr Chouhan urged the Centre to frame a legislation vis-à-vis ‘triple talaq’ at the earliest. He said that practices such as ‘triple talaq’ tantamount to social and mental harassment of women and are impediments in the country’s development. The apex court today declared ‘triple talaq’ as unconstitutional. UNI
