Srinagar, Aug 30 :  Out of 1590.75 kms of roads constructed by Border Roads Organisation (BRO) during the last three years in the country, Jammu and Kashmir state has got lions share of 438.46 kms.
        As per the operational requirement of Army, Long Term Roll on Works Plan of BRO for five years (2015-2020) has been formulated to include 519 roads of length measuring 22,225 km for construction and improvement by BRO, official records said.
        Out of above 519 roads, 61 roads of length measuring 3417 Km have been identified as strategic Indo-China Border Roads (ICBR), it said.  
      The records said that making the border roads accessible in the country, BRO has constructed 527.30 kms length of road during the year 2014-15 and in 2015-16, 542.75 kms while 520.71 kms road length in 2016-17.
  The BRO record further said that out of total 1590.75 kms road length constructed by the organization in the country during the past three years, highest 438.46 kms of road length was constructed in the Jammu and Kashmir.
      As per year wise records in  2014-15,  154.41 kms of road length was constructed 129.85 km during 2015-16 and 154.2 km in 2016-17 in the Jammu and Kashmir by BRO.
       It said that Rajasthan was at second place where 335.16 kms of road length was constructed by the BRO during the past three years, while lowest was 0.95 km in Andaman Nicobar.
       It said that as per the operational requirement of Army, Long Term Roll on Works Plan of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for five years (2015-2020) has been formulated to include 519 roads of length measuring 22,225 km for construction  and improvement by BRO.
        Out of above 519 roads, 61 roads of length measuring 3417 Km have been identified as strategic Indo-China Border Roads (ICBR).  
       In addition to meeting the operational requirement, the above mentioned roads, on completion, would also enhance accessibility to border areas including areas where the border infrastructure and forward connectivity is lacking. UNI
