New Delhi, Aug 1 : Supreme Court lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma today sought cancellation of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's membership from the Legislative Assembly for allegedly concealing his criminal records in the process of 2015 Bihar Assembly election. He mentioned the matter before the three-judge bench, headed by Justice Dipak Misra, who said, 'We would likely hear the matter on Monday.' In his petition, Mr Sharma claimed that Mr Kumar's membership from the Assembly should be cancelled as he had allegedly concealed his criminal records while filing an affidavit in the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections. He further mentioned before the bench, also comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and Amitava Roy, that for this alleged criminal act, Mr Kumar should also be prosecuted. Mr Sharma also mentioned before the Apex court that Nitish had 'intentionally' concealed his criminal records in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission during the state Assembly elections.
