Varanasi, Aug 9 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi for a day on September 1. Officials here today said that the Prime Minister could visit the temple city to welcome the 'Namami Gange Jagriti Yatra' on that day and inaugurate the Ghat bridge on river Ganga and other projects. The bridge will connect former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri's native village Ramnagar with Banaras Hindu University (BHU) over Ganga. Though there is no official confirmation about the visit of the PM, but as per the schedule of the Namami Gange Jagriti Yatra, which will reach Varanasi on September 1, there is a programme that the PM or his representative would welcome the Yatra at the Assi Ghat.
