Patna, Aug 17 : RJD today accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi of being involved in Srijan scam of Bhagalpur district and demanded their resignations, saying it was bigger than fodder scam which should be investigated by CBI. Former minister and senior RJD leader Jagadanand Singh told media persons that both Chief Minister Mr Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Mr Modi were involved in Srijan scam in Bhagalpur district, which was to the tune of more than Rs 1,000 Crores and it was expected to further increase as investigation was still under progress. Mr Modi was Deputy Chief Minister from 2005 to 2013, when huge amount from government accounts in banks was diverted to accounts of Srijan, an NGO in Bhagalpur district, he said adding that Mr Modi was directly involved in it as he was also Finance Minister during the period. Mr Singh said, both Chief Minister Mr Kumar who had naturally overall responsibility while Mr Modi was directly responsible to ensure financial discipline, should resign on moral grounds. In preliminary investigation, the scam appeared to be of Rs 1,000 Crores while it was infact of more than Rs 15,000 Crores, he said adding that Srijan scam was much bigger than fodder scam.UNI
