Aug 25: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an
ex-gratia payment of Rs 50 lakh to the family of the martyred police
sub-inspector J P Singh, who was killed in an encounter with dacoits in
Chitrakoot. Expressing his deep condolence on the death of the police officer,
the Chief Minister said here today that while Rs 40 lakh would be given to the
wife of the martyr and rest Rs 10 lakh to the parent of the SI. Of the total
compensation amount, announced yesterday, Rs 25 lakh would be provided by the
state home department and rest Rs 25 lakhs from the CM discretionary quota.
Policemen of Banda, Lucknow and Jaunpur range have also announced to donate one
day salary to the family of the SI. Mr Adityanath also announced that a Gate
would be constructed in the name of the SI at his native village Banwera in
Jaunpur district and a road will be also be named after him. Besides, the
martyr would also be presented with Gallantry award. The Chief Minister also
talked to the father of the martyr Shyam Bihari Singh on phone and consoled
him. State Rural Development Minister( Independent charge) Mahendra Singh today
met the families of the martyr at their native village to pay condolence on
behalf of UP government and the Chief Minister. UNI
