Referring to the adage that cleanliness is godliness, the DGP said that all the police establishments of all the wings should be kept neat and clean by putting in extra efforts of removing the garbage and providing adequate number of dustbins.
He directed the concerned officers to launch special sanitation drives in Police Housing Colonies at Gandhi Nagar and Channi Himmat Jammu and Zewan and Bemina Housing Colonies in Kashmir.
Lauding the efforts of Principal Police Training School Manigam for keeping the complex of the school well maintained, he exhorted upon the district Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Commandants to put in special efforts for cleaning and upkeep of the kitchens, washrooms/toilets and barracks of the Police Stations, Police Lines and the Battalions and Company formations.
Meanwhile, Dr Vaid today chaired a high level meeting with senior police officials to ensure active participation of police in the nationwide sanitation campaign “Swachhata Hi Seva” being launched on Friday.
Highlighting the need for preservation and cleaning of the world famous Dal Lake, it was decided in the meeting that manpower from different wings of the police department will be mobilized to help in cleaning the Lake and hospitals. UNI
