RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 26: A team
of Legal Metrology Department headed by Assistant Controller, Rajesh Heera
today imposed a fine amounting to Rs. 25000 on Third Millennium Higher
Secondary, a private institute in Nowshera Sub-Division for adopting unfair
trade practices including sale of books and notebooks in violation of Legal
Metrology (Packaged Commodity Rules).
It was noted
that the management was forcing students to buy school diaries, pens and
notebooks on exorbitant prices without printed MRP.
Assistant Controller appealed the public to register
their genuine complaints with the office of Legal Metrology so that offenders
may be brought to book for further legal action.
