Srinagar, Sep 13: Jammu and Kashmir police today claimed to have arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW), who allegedly was motivating young boys to join Hizbul Mujahideen, in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
A police spokesperson told UNI that following specific inputs, a wanted OGW, Ishtiaq Ahmed Wani, who was at large, was today arrested in Baramulla.
“Wani, a resident of Goushbugh Pattan, used to motivate and recruit youth for HM,” he added.
He said Wani had doubled his effort to motivate and recruit more youth in Baramulla following increase in the number of killing of militants in counter-insurgency encounters.
“Wani is being questioned and more arrested could be made in the coming days,” he added. UNI
