JAMMU,
SEPTEMBER 26: Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu
inaugurated a two days workshop on “Rural Innovations” organized by J&K
Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD).
The objective of the workshop is to share various innovative practices
happening in different areas like agriculture, natural resource management,
rural housing and sanitation and grass root planning process, so that such
innovations may be carried forward to different rural regions of the State .
The workshop is being attended by officers from Rural
development department and Agriculture department.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma emphasized
the need of innovations in strengthening the socio-economic fabric of our rural
areas. He stressed on the importance of indigenous knowledge of the rural
people, which can be beneficial to address their issues.
Prof. Reva Sharma, Director Trainings IMPARD in her
welcome address focussed on role of IMPARD in organizing such workshops and
promoting the best practices being implemented in different parts of the
country.
Dr. Ruchi Gupta, Course Coordinator briefed the
participants about the workshop. Prof. Reva Sharma, Prof. G.M Bhat, Chairman
Grassroot Innovation Augmentation Network(GIAN ) CELL, from Kashmir University,
Registrar and Faculties from SKUAST, Jammu, Er. N.K Gupta, Sr. Scientist
Skuast, Mr. Anil Gaind from Ferrocement Cooperative Society, Mr. Sanjeev Arora-
chairman of Regional and Urban Development Agency, Dr. Anirudh Rai are the key
speakers for the workshop.
