LEH, SEPTEMBER 18: State-level
Khadi exhibition organized by Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) in
collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) concluded
today at Indoor Sports Stadium Leh in Ladakh region.
A valedictory function was held today in which Vice Chairman KVIB,
Mansoor Soharwardhy was the Chief Guest, Member KVIC North-Zone, Hina Bhat was
the Guest of Honour and Executive Councilor LAHDC-Leh, Dorfay Moutp presided
over the function.
Among others, Secretary/CEO, KVIB and other functionaries of KVIB and
other concerned were also present.
The Vice
Chairman visited various stalls which displayed a variety of Khadi items. He
was informed that 50 stalls were installed during the exhibition and about Rs
50 lakh sale was registered which witnessed a great footfall of the locals and
foreigners.
In the exhibition, unit holders from Kashmir Valley and few local
entrepreneurs and Khadi Institutions also participated.
The Vice Chairman praised the KVIB for organizing such an event at Leh
and desired that such events be organized in all the regions of the State to
boost the sales and help the entrepreneurs/artisans to interact with the buyers
directly.
He said such occasion also help in getting feedback from the buyers with
regard to designing, product quality, etc to make the products more saleable
and consumer attractive.
On the occasion, Hina Bhat impressed upon the DICs of KVIC and KVIB to
work in synergy so that the people of Jammu & Kashmir are benefited by the
schemes of the Government.
The Executive Councilor LAHDC -Leh appreciated the efforts of KVIB by
organizing first ever State level Khadi exhibition at Leh.
