BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 25: Additional
Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sanai today visited
Laherwalpora and Hari Bathe areas situated on the banks of Wullar Lake and
inaugurated sanitation drive under 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign.
The ADC was accompanied by Deputy Chief Education Officer, officers of
the district administration including Rural Development Department,
Municipality, Revenue, Media Persons, locals and school children.
On the occasion garbage from various areas was collected and disposed
off. The ADC said that the aim of visiting the village is to carry forward the
nationwide sanitation campaign which started on September 15 to every
village of the district. He said district administration is covering all the
21villages situated at the banks of Wullar Lake. He urged upon the locals to
take active be the part in the sanitation campaign.
The ADC also visited Bilal Ahmad Dar of Laherwalpora, who was appointed
as brand ambassador by SMC Srinagar for his continuous efforts in collecting
plastic and garbage from the Wullar Lake. He interacted with his family
members and announced that the district administration will bare all expenses
for the continuation of education of Bilal.
He also visited High School at the village and addressed
the students there and asked them to carry the message of importance of
cleanliness to their homes.
During the visit, various deputations also met the ADC and projected
their demands. The ADC directed the concerned to be prompt in addressing the
grievances of the people.
