SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 20: Divisional
Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the
preparedness of “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” (National Unity Day) which will be
observed on October 31, 2017.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Deputy Director Planning and
other concerned officers were present in the meeting whereas all Deputy
Commissioners including Leh & Kargil participated in the meeting through
Video Conferencing.
The meeting was informed that the birth anniversary of Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel will be observed as “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” (National
Unity Day) which will be observed on October 31, 2017 across the
country as well as in the valley. “This day has a special occasion to
foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity
and security of our country”.
Div com directed to hold Pledge Ceremony in all districts for which the
text of the Pledge has already been sent to all DCs. He also directed to organize Run for
Unity, March Past, Seminars, Debates and Painting competition in the schools,
colleges and district levels for the Unity, Integrity and Security of the
country.
Khan also directed all DCs to hold a meeting in their respective districts
for the successful observation of “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” (National
Unity Day).
