SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 21: According
to the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive Kashmir) of Excise Department, the
sleuths of the department destroyed 155 kanals of the Bhang crop in the Wagama
and Takyabla villages of district Anantnag and Hakabara village at Bandipora
district.
It added that 5396 kanals of Bhang crop has been destroyed in the 3
ranges of Kashmir Division and the drive against same shall continue. The
Excise and Taxation officers have been directed to act tough against the
illegal bung cultivators.
Excise department warned cultivators to desist the cultivation of Bhang
in future.
Excise department also said that an opportunity is being provided to the
illegal cultivators to destroy the illegally cultivated Bhung within 3
days otherwise strict action will be taken against them as per the prescribed
law.
