Urban Development Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, Asiea
Naqash today convened a meeting to review Ancillary Medical Training (AMT)
Schools of Kashmir division.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Health and Medical
Education, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Principal Government Medical College Srinagar, Dr
Samia, Director Health Services, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Principals of all AMT
Schools of Kashmir division and other officials.
On the occasion, the Minister said the Government is making concerted
efforts to strengthen the AMT/AMNT schools in the State with improved
infrastructure and qualified staff.
She said that all the vacant seats at the paramedic institutions should
be filled at an earliest for creating employment and quality education.
The Minister said that AMT/ANMT Schools are pioneer institutes for
training the Ancillary Medical personnel and offering the basic and promotional
educational programs.
Highlighting role of paramedical staff, Ms Aseia said paramedics work
day and night to provide quality services to the patients and in this regard
ensuring better training facilities to the paramedics is priority of the
Government.
She directed the officials to take steps to streamline functioning of the
paramedical institutes in the valley.
Ms Aseia urged upon the officials to create awareness about these
schools so that with such programs students make optimum use of the innovative
techniques and learn from the experiences of faculty.
The Minister also asked the concerned officials to introduce new
courses in these institutions and asked them to make quality of education at
par with private institutions.
Directing the officials to remove the impediments in employing ASHA
workers, Ms Aseia said selection of health workers should be done on the basis
of merit and experience.
