BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 16: Deputy
Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash, today chaired a meeting of
officers to review the arrangements made by various departments for the
upcoming Muharram-Ul-Haram.
Among others, MLA Zadibal, Abid Hussain Ansari, who is also General
Secretary All Jammu and Kashmir Shia association, was also present in the
meeting.
On the occasion, the concerned authorities were directed to provide
uninterrupted power and water supply besides ensuring availability of
healthcare facilities, sanitation, fire wood, essential commodities, and
security and transport facilities.
The DC directed the officials to make sure that the arrangements
pertaining to their departments are put in place well before the
Muharram-Ul-Harram. He also stressed on ensuring availability of extended
transport facilities at various locations in the district to ferry the Muharram
mourners.
He also instructed the concerned municipality officers to ensure
cleanliness around Imambaras and Mosques wherefrom processions come out during
the Muharram days.
The concerned authorities were also asked to replace damaged street
lights and install new ones so that the mourners will not suffer during their
night movements.
Secretary Anjuman-i-Imama Uri, Chairman Jafferi Council of J&K
State, Chairman Auqaaf Committee Imambada Delina, President Ithaadul Muslimeen
among other prominent citizens of the society also attended the meeting.
