BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 28: District
Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora Sajjad Hussain , Thursday,
convened a review meeting, here and took stock of ongoing development projects
and welfare programmes.
He also reviewed the pace of progress of action taken reports of
District Development Board Meetings of last three years, besides other issues
relating to good governance.
The DDC exhorted Officers to be proactive and exhibit good governance in
the field. He directed them to achieve the fixed targets for the year within
the fixed time line so that the benefits of developmental schemes could
percolate down to the target public.
The DDC took a detailed sector wise review of all sectors including
Rural Development, Education, Power, PWD and was informed that as many as 507
development projects are under execution at an estimated cost of 1236 crore,
out of which 90 projects have been completed during last year while as 157
projects are expected to be completed by the end of current financial year.
The DDC was informed that out of target of generating 4 lakh mandays of
work, 1.42 lakh mandays have been generated under Rural Development Schemes
out of Rs 10.33 crore Labour Budget, Rs 8.26 crore have been utilized till
date.
Under Swach Bharat 12500 House Hold toilets have been constructed out of
24000 target.
Reviewing the Education Sector, it was informed that out of 796 schools,
616 have government accommodation, 526 have water supply facilities. It was
also informed that 8 School buildings are being handed over to education
department this year.
The DDC asked concerned Officers to provide water supply and toilet
facilities to all schools of the District.
Reviewing the other issues, the DDC stressed upon the officers to
strictly implement the Grievances Redressal Mechanism as per the pattern of CM
Grievances Cell and ensure that the responses from the departments be online.
He said five departments including FCS &CA, PDD, Revenue, ARTO and Rural
Development have been chosen for first phase.
The other issues which were reviewed include status of Bio Metric
attendance in government offices, Achievements under Swachhta Hi Seva
programme, PMAY, Vision Document, Road Safety Action Plan, and survey of
National Water Ways Routes in the district.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Planning Officer,
ACD other sectoral and District Officers were present in the meeting.
