KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 23:  District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Talat Parvez Rohella today conducted an extensive tour of the district and inspected various ongoing works of PHE and Health departments at Chawalgam, Lirow, Kakran, Nihama, Khee -Jogipora, Guddar and Devsar.
During the tour,  DDC took stock of the functioning of various water supply schemes in the district besides functioning of Public Health Centres.
The DDC was informed that work on Water Supply Scheme Chawalgam, with a capacity of 1.25 lakh gallons is in progress and will be commissioned soon. The scheme will cater the entire Kulgam district.
While inspecting the WSS Lirow, DDC directed the concerned Exen to ensure the proper chlorination of the drinking water and formulation of the log book of the same so that accountability is ensured.
At Khee-Jogipora, the DDC was informed that the lift irrigation scheme will take a month to get functional that will benefit the public to a large extent. The DDC also visited the Khee Ziyarat and interacted with the devotees.
Meanwhile, he directed the RDD functionaries to construct toilet facilities besides ensuring the cleanliness around the Dargah and its premises.
While interacting with the people at Khee-Jogipora, the people demanded the early completion of the pending work on Khee Bridge. He directed the R&B Department to ensure the completion at an earliest.
CMO informed the DDC that a PHC has already been sanctioned but work could not been taken up due to non-availability of land. The DDC directed the Tehsildar D H Pora to identify a chunk of land for construction of PHC.

While inspecting PHC Nihama constructed by J&K Police Housing Corporation, the DDC observed the cracks which have got developed in the building. The officers of the J&K Police Housing Corporation were directed to submit the DPR of the existing PHC Nihama to his office so that it can be investigated into.
