DDC Shopian flags off marathon race

          SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 16: DDC Shopian Mohammad Aijaz Asad today flagged off the Marathon Race under the banner of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ to encourage participation of the school going children in the ongoing massive cleanliness drive.

          The 2.5 km Marathon run, from Circuit House Shopian to the Bohrihallan, witnessed participation of large number of school students and sports loving persons/youth.

          On the occasion DDC, said the government would focus on providing facilities and sports infrastructure at the grassroots level, especially, for indigenous and popular sports.

          While interacting with the students, DDC said youth of Shopian district have proved their worth at national level. Last year only, 6 players won medals at national level. I am confident that our players will play with team spirit and exhibit exemplary conduct both on and off the field, he said.
