District Administration Budgam organizes conference on Women Empowerment

          BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER, 16: A one day conference on Women Empowerment  “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao“  was today organized by the district administration Budgam.

          Chief Education Officer, Budgam, Chief Medical Officer and Project officer, ICDS  in particular  provided the logistics for the seminar.

          The District Development commissioner, Budgam, Mohammed Haroon Malik was chief guest on the occasion.

          Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that for the over all empowerment of women folk such programmes are necessary. He said that the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao“ has been launched in 100 districts of the country in the first instance, which are low in girl child sex ratio (as per 2011 census),with a mission  to eliminate the gender bias against female  and ensuring survival and protection of girl child.  

          The DDC said that this scheme was the urgent need of today’s time as without saving and empowering women of the country, development is not possible. He hoped that with active cooperation of the people and dedication of the programme implementation agencies, the ambitious Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme will surely bring positive changes in our state including our district Budgam also.
