RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 28: Minister
for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli, accompanied by the
Member Prliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, today inaugurated Chingus to Badther and
Narian to Dughani roads in Kalakote sanctioned under PMGSY in district Rajouri.
These road projects were constructed and completed at an accumulated cost of Rs
6.65 crore.
The Minister was apprised that the two vital roads have been completed
by the PMGSY in a record period. The 4.16 km long road from Chingus to Rani
Badther was constructed at a cost of Rs 2.16 crore while as the 8.90 km road
from Narian to Dughani was constructed at a cost of Rs 4.49 crore. He was
informed that these roads will connect a dozen of hilly habitations and will provide
better road connectivity to more than 6000 people of the area.
Addressing
the gathering after inaugurating these road projects, the Minister assured the
people that the government will take all out efforts to provide
better and quality education to the children of the remote and far flung
areas. He said the constructions of number of school buildings in the area have
been taken up this financial year which will be completed in a stipulated time.
The Minister said the government is abreast with the people’s problems
and assured that their demands will be looked into time bound manner.
Asking Officers of PMGSY to ensure speedy and time bound execution of
works carried by the Department in Rajouri district directed for conducting of
Survey of area and identify the projects and prepare Detailed Project Reports
(DPRs) and submit the same to the concerned quarter for accord of necessary
approval.
The Minister said that the government has already taken strict measures
to ensure adherence to quality of highest standards so that new macadamized
roads would be in good condition for years to come.
On the occasion Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing
the gathering said that the collation government is committed to provide road
connectivity to all uncovered habitations of the State. He said in this regard
Centre has provided liberal funding to J&K State under various sectors
including Roads and Buildings but need of the hour is to identify the
habitations that have not been covered under road connectivity so far.
The MP said that crores of rupees will be spent on the Macadamization of
roads in the State and in the coming years, entire scenario of road network
will be changed.
During the tour, several deputations met the minister and apprised him
about their problems. These included construction of protection bunds,
up-gradation of lanes, damaged drains and health infrastructure. The Minister
gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be
looked into. A team of Senior Officers accompanied the Minister during his tour
to district Rajouri.
