KATRA, SEPTEMBER 27: The holy town of Katra Wednesday was filled by spiritual ambience as enthusiastic devotees participated in Prabhat Pheri   taken out today to mark 7th Navratra.
The religious procession was organised by Navratra Prabhat Pheri Committee, Katra with active support of local people as a part of Navratra Festival being organized by SMVD Shrine Board, Department of Tourism and district administration Reasi.
The Prabhat Pheri started and culminated at Bus Stand, Katra after passing through Ban Ganga Road, Dak Banglow, Shalimar Garden, Chintamani, Hanuman Mandir and main bazaar Katra.
Enroute, the devotees recited hymns in praise of Maa Durga filling the air with spirituality.
The Prabhat Pheri provided a glimpse of the rich Marathi tradition as artists from Maharashtra beat drums (Dhol) and recited devotional songs. Later, artists from Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh also joined the procession adding to more spiritual ambiance to the event.
Meanwhile devotees and artists from various parts of the country continued to arrive at Katra to participate in the Navratra Prabhat Pheri which is followed by series of other festivities.     
Earlier, Chief Guest DIG, CRPF Sushil Kumar Misra flagged off the Prabhat Pheri   in presence of senior civil  society members including,  Ex- Chairman Hotel and Restaurant Association Babu Ram Dubey, Shashi Gupta and Ajay Sharma patrons of Navratra Prabhat Pheries Committee.
In his address, the Chief Guest appealed the people to follow the path of Maa Vaishno Devi and teaching of Dharma to make the nation strong and prosperous.
The Committee members also felicitated the Chief Guest by presenting memento.

The members present on the occasion were Raj Kumar Dubey, Dleep Padha, Manish Kapoor, Ajay Verma, Kushal Magotra, Tilak Raj, Diwakar Sharma, Amit Bamba, Renue Ji Dhar, Vimal Sharma, Sahil Sharma, Honey Singh and many others.
