JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23: The one
week training programme on “Basic Life Support” for second batch of J&K
Police personnel concluded today at SDRF 2nd Battalion Headquarters Jammu.
Pertinently, 42 Police personnel from various wings of J&K Police
were trained during the programme in various effective ways to deal with
disaster situations. The training was imparted by SDRF instructor in
various life saving techniques and other rescue methods i.e. Collapse Structure
Search and Rescue (CSSR), Fire Fighting, Medical First Aid, Snake Biting etc.
During the training, a demonstration on latest equipments to be
used for emergency medical services was also presented by a team of
MGM Associates, Medical Emergency and Health Care.
The valedictory function of the course was presided over by Commandant SDRF
2nd Battalian Jammu Rashmi Wazir who highlighted the importance and need of the
course.
Later, training certificates were also distributed among the trainees by
the Commandant.
Pertinently, J&K State is a disaster prone state and falls in
seismic zone-4/5 and the state Government has taken various steps to
train the local Police personnel in various disaster management training
programmes to face the situation during natural and manmade disasters.
The Police Headquarter Quarter, J&K, Directorate of HG/CD and
SDRF J&K, Srinagar has started various training programmes at SDRF
1st and 2nd Battalion Headquarters Jammu and
Srinagar to train maximum police personnel.
