| Ministers Visit District Court Complex Rajouri |
RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 14: Minister
for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Khan and
Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Information,
Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today handed over the sanction letters to 60
beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) involving an amount of
Rs. 6.97 crores here today in a function organized by Rural Development Department
at Dak Bungalow Rajouri.
The scheme aims at providing assistance to the poor and economically
downtrodden for constructing residential houses.
Speaking on the occasion the ministers highlighted various aspects of
the scheme and said the ambitious scheme has been launched with the mission of
providing housing for all by 2022.
While emphasizing upon the concerned officers for bringing transparency
in the implementation of various schemes, the minister said that our commitment
is to uplift the weaker section of the society for which various schemes are
afoot.
He impressed upon the BDOs to regularly hold Gram Sabhas to take people
into confidence before starting any project and also stressed on them to
display the list of selected beneficiaries under PMAY in every Panchayat to
weed out bogus cases and to ensure the benefits entailed under the scheme
percolate to the deserving candidates.
He said that a prototype has been adopted by the department for
construction of houses under PMAY and the concerned officials to ensure that
houses are built as per the prototype.
He called upon the ACD and DPO to effectively monitor all the works
taken under PMAY, MGNREGA and SBA so as to ensure that quality is not
compromised. He also impressed upon concerned to undertake works in convergence
mode with other departments and create tangible assets for public utility.
While hailing Abdul Haq khan for his efforts in streamlining and
bringing transparency in the functioning of the department, Chowdhary Zulfkar
said the department has under taken development works in the district on mission
mode. He said that many important projects like eco parks, bridges, school
buildings, bunkers in shelling affected areas alongside LOC, trekking paths etc
have been started by the department in convergence with other departments.
Among others Vice chairman State Advisory Board for PSP Kuldeep Raj
Gupta, MLA Rajouri Adv. Qammar Chowdhary, DDC Rajouri Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, ACD Noor
Alam and BDOs were present in the function.
Later the ministers, Abdul Haq Khan and Zulfkar Ali along with MLA Rajouri,
DDC and other officers visited the district court complex and held interaction
with bar members. The bar president vehemently demanded the development of
infrastructure for the court including lawyers’ chambers,
sheds for litigants, library, sanitary complex and earliest acquisition land
for construction of new court complex. He also proposed that a session court
should be established at Darhal and Manjakote.
Mr. Khan also gave on-spot direction to the district administration to
construct 12 chambers, sanitary complex besides ensuring earliest acquisition
of land for shifting of the district court complex.
