DDC Anantnag chairs meeting on 'Swachhata he Sewa'

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 13: The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag Muhammad Younis Malik, today chaired a meeting of the officers regarding the celebration of cleanliness drive “Swachhata he Sewa” in the district.

          This meeting was held in the backdrop of Chief Secretary’s direction for launching 2-week cleanliness drives from 15^th of September to Gandhi Jayanti i.e., 2^nd of October, 2017 throughout the state.

          All the officers were directed to start the drive from their district headquarters followed by the cleanliness drive down the line upto  the village level. Accordingly, all the officers were instructed to devise a roaster of areas and activities so that besides sanitation, people are made aware about the value and importance of sanitation.

          In this drive, the public participation in sanitation has to be ensured for which the concerned officers were exhorted upon to motivate the people.

          In addition, seminars, painting competitions and essay competitions have to be organised in all the educational institutions. For this purpose, all the SDMs were directed to coordinate the activities.

          Meanwhile, all the BDOs were directed to focus on cleaning the nallahs, streets and markets from the polythene and take action against those shopkeepers involved in the use of polythene.

          It was given out that focus shall also be laid on displaying of hoarding at tourist spots, educational and health institutions. Besides, the representatives of Auqaf Committees were asked to rope in with concerned municipalities and BDOs so that sanitation is ensured around shrines and mosques.

          The SSP Anantnag said that police department will also coordinate and provide logistic support in this drive focusing primarily on water bodies.

          All the officers were directed to submit the calendar of activates besides submitting the daily report to the District Development Commissioner.

          The meeting was attended by the SSP Anantnag, Vice principal Government Degree College (Boys) Khanabal, ASP Anatnag, Chief Executive Officers of PDA, KDA and VDA, SDMs of Dooru, Kokernag, Pahalgam and Bijbehara, ACD, DPO,CMO, CEO, BDOs, Tehsildars and EOs of the municipalities.
