Srinagar,
Sep 1: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yaseen Malik was
today arrested along with another leader and shifted to central Jail, official
sources said. They said Malik and another front leader Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri,
Zonal organiser, were arrested from JKLF office today. A spokesperson of the
front, strongly condemning the arrest of Malik before Eid-ul-Azha tomorrow,
said a police party raided the JKLF office and arrested Malik and Bashir. He
said they were later shifted to central jail, Srinagar. However, before his
arrest Malik told mediapersons that in the past detenues were being released
from jail and other detention centres on the eve of Eid and other festivals.
But, he alleged that now the present PDP-BJP coalition government is taking
pleasure in arresting people instead of releasing them on these occasions. He
said yesterday ailing Dukhtaran-e-Milat (DeM) chief Asiya Andrabi was dragged
out of hospital and shifted to Jammu jail. The JKLF chairman said that
thousands of children and even the old are languishing in jails. Many of these
inmates have been serving consecutive PSA’s even after expiry of their earlier
PSA or are quashed by courts. UNI
