BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 27: To
observe the World Tourism Day, Government Polytechnic College Bandipora
organized a grand function on Wednesday.
The additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora Khurshed Ahmed Sanai
was the chief guest, while as Principal of the college, officers from district
administration, faculty members, and students participated in the function.
The speakers on the occasion delivered their lectures with the aim to
disseminate knowledge about role of tourism in boosting the economy of the
state.
Speaking at the function the ADC threw light on the role of tourism in
the present day world. He said tourism plays a vital role in bring up new and
original tourist places on the map which helps the far off areas to boost their
economy.
The ADC praised the role of organizers for conducting such function in
Bandipora and advised them to organize more programs in the far off tourist
destinations of the district. He asked the college management to take students
for exposure tour to tourist spots including Gurez, for which he offered every
kind of support from the District Administration.
A cultural program was also presented by the students depicting the
values of tourism industry in economic development. Principal of the college
and H.O.D tourism of the college also spoke on the occasion.
Later awards were distributed among the best teachers and students of
the college, followed by a rally holding banners and posters, was flagged-off
by ADC from the college premises and culminated at main chowk Bandipora.
