BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 14: 38th State Level two day annual
literary conference of Adbee Markaz Kamraz Jammu and Kashmir (AMK) commenced at
a local college in Papachan, Bandipora, today in Coordination with Literary
Forum Bandipora.
Noted literary figure and former
Director Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar Farooq Nazki presided over the inaugural
session of the conference. While as District Development Commissioner
Bandipora, Sajjad Hussain, Secretary Cultural Academy, Dr Aziz Hajini, Former
Chief Secretary, Mohammad Shafi Pandit, President AMK, Dr Sayeed Shujaat
Bukhari, prominent broadcaster Brij Nath Betab were also present on the
occasion.
The conference started with
recitation of Quran, followed by AMK anthem. President
AMK while welcoming the guests said that AMK is not only an organization but
had a concept behind it to save and survive the Kashmiri culture and language.
He expresses his pleasure for introducing Kashmiri language in the school
curriculum at Secondary level, for which he thanked the state government.
The former functionaries of the AMK,
Mohammad Ahsan Ahsan and Ateeqa Behanji were also remembered on the occasion.
On the occasion special number of
PRAVE was released in remembrance of Prof Mohi -u-din Hajni.
The renowned dignitaries, poets,
writers, academicians throughout the state participated in the conference.
These include Vice Chairman Handloom and Handicrafts Board, Nizam-u-din Bhat,
MLA Handwara, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, former MLA Bandipora Ghulam Rasool Naz, Dr
Rafiq Masoodi, Prof Mashal Sultanpuri, Mushtaq Ahmad Tantray, Prof Mohammad
Zamaan Azurda, Prof Ismail Ashna, Ghulam Nabi Aatash, Rafiq Raaz, Saydudin
Saidy, Prince Parvaiz, Saleem Pandit, Ali Mohammad Aseer, Mir Tariq and Aadil
Ismail.
